Jones Food Company designs, builds, and operates
world-scale vertical farms

Project overview

Jones Food Company designs, builds, and operates world-scale vertical farms, leading the next generation of UK agriculture by growing the highest quality fresh produce locally, sustainably, and affordably.

In 2018, Jones Food Company decided to have a fully funded solar PV system installed to support their on-site electricity consumption which delivered the maximum potential savings in their electricity costs and carbon emission reductions in the short and long term.

How we helped

After completion of a detailed technical survey and due diligence, Zestec designed and installed a 164 kWp solar PV system. Jones Food Company wanted to maximise the forecast energy savings, so they needed to work with a partner who utilised the best technology available, had extensive expertise and offered a long-term, hassle-free, innovative, financing and actively managed renewable energy solution. Since completion, 100% of the solar energy generated onsite is being consumed by Jones Food Company, which is c.151,000 kWh per year.
